Topic: Should you play looser in NL play than you do in Limit? (Read 3180 times)

I've heard some NL players say that you should play looser in NL play pre flop. Basically see as many cheap flops as possible because of the implied odds.
What do you guys think?

I think it totally depends on the table, the blinds, your chip count, and your position. Personally, I don't agree with that generalization. In limit, there are situations where you will play looser, and the same holds true in no-limit. So, I think it totally depends on the many game factors whether or not NL is looser.

In general, your statement is right. But in reality it is all about playing tight aggressive.
There is no point in playing a too tight as you become predictable and you cant make any money. That is one of those things that just doesn't happen as much in a fixed limit game.
In fixed limit there is a lot less bluffing!

PreFlop I play about the same.. After the flop.. I tend to chase more in limit games.. and I tend to toss stuff I may have bet in NL

Most of the time I vary my game depending on playing tournament poker or cash game. Aggression is - at least my take on it - not related to what kind of poker you are playing.
