Do any of you guys play backgammon? I've never really gotten into it, but watching the WPT they say that Gus Hanson is a High Stakes Backgammon player, I didn't even know that existed.
Also I've been noticing a lot of backgammon sites popping up on the internet. Can you play for money on those sites too?

They used to say that backgammon is another skill game and will have the next big popularity as poker has these days. If you are interested in backgammon we put up a page for backgammon fans, you can find it here: http://www.live-online-poker-game.com/backgammonI think this game worths a shot!

From what I have read, backgammon uses many of the same skills as Poker. Ie: an ability to do basic probabilities on the fly, and use them to caculate expectations. Thus many world class poker players are also world class backgammon players. I've been thinking of taking it up to help improve my poker play. And yes, you can definitely play it for money if you are so inclined.

Yeah have played some backgammon with friends and it is fun. However I think I will always stick to cards. I just love the look of them... Ace of Spades, Queen of hearts... soooo good! Backgammon kind of reminds me of playing chess, I like it, I love playing it, but I hate getting beat! Bart
