How to start playing poker online?

I’m interested in playing online, what to do now?

First of all, you need a poker software. All of the poker rooms on this website offer great software and they are FREE to download and use. When you find your most liked room or rooms (we encourage you to try more than one poker room) click the “PLAY NOW” link on the detailed poker room info page or the *“DOWNLOAD NOW” link* on the Downloads page. This will take you to the poker room’s website where you can direct download its program. (In some cases there is additional download information on the website.)

After you have downloaded the poker software, install it. The program will create shortcuts on your desktop or in your Start menu. You are almost ready to play!

After installing

Click on the program shortcut to start to play poker online. You will be prompted to create an account. This is free, you don’t have to deposit any money so feel free to register and give your details. All of the poker rooms on this website offer free accounts and your details are in a safe place, so don’t worry. In some of the poker rooms (for example Absolute Poker) you have to create your real money account separately, but create it now, it doesn’t require any money deposit at all, but necessary to participate in freerolls. At this point you are ready to play and win. But before you start to play at high stakes poker table with real money try the play money sections. Every poker rooms have play money tables, but playing here is very different from the real money tables, so stay here only to learn the software itself. DO NOT stay here long because you will learn bad habits because people here behave far more different than at real money tables. (Because of there is no real money in the play money game.)

Instead of playing in play money, try the freeroll tournaments to play (usually you can find them on the Multi Table tournaments sections in the poker rooms software). They are a little bit closer to online poker, but there are differences.

Before you play on a real money table you have to deposit money. The poker rooms offer wide range of depositing opportunities like credit cards, Neteller, wire, etc. The transfer is secure.
